KNOXVILLE — Pella Christian’s boys combined to fire a 328 for the 18-hole Knoxville Invitational golf tournament Saturday. The Eagles finished third behind Pella at 312 and Grinnell at 322.
Eagle head golf coach Jim Dingeman said the 328 was better than any 18-hole score Pella Christian’s boys put together a year ago. He said that marks improvement for the Eagle team.
Leading the way at Pine Knolls Country Club was Justin Stravers with an 80. Mason Howerzyl finished with an 82 while Josh Posthuma and Graham Howerzyl each came in with an 83.
Mitch Fopma and Jordan Pleima each careded an 88.
The Eagles, who are 7-3 on the season, have all week to work on their games on the practice course. They go to the Perry Invitational this Saturday.
