Jasper County Sheriff John Halferty will present his office’s quarterly report for approval to the Jasper County Board of Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting, which will also serve as the board’s last meeting for April.

In January, Halferty’s office collected $52,442.59 and disbursed $43,430.39. For February, the office collected $60,547.24 and disbursed $64,645.35 and in March, the office collected $46,117.94 and disbursed $38,459.53.

As of March 14, the office has a fund balance of $23,052.68 according to Halferty’s report.

Halferty also will ask the board to appoint several reserve deputies: Jacob Halferty; Carrie Jo Stilley; Ryan Eaton; Rick Nichols; Rodney Eilander; Steven Buchmeier and Alan Shea. If approved, all of the reserve deputies’ appointments would expire on Dec. 31, 2016.

Last week, during the public comments portion of the meeting, Pat Tomlonovic asked for consideration to be placed on this week’s agenda to have a driveway built to access his fields.

Tomlonovic has two driveway applications for a property near S. 52nd Ave. W. for review. The first is for building a new driveway half a mile south of the listed location and the other is to build a driveway north of an existing driveway at the property.

Other action items on the agenda include a voting on two liquor licenses and votes on hiring resolutions for a seasonal intern at the Jasper County Conservation Office and part-time jailor for the Jasper County Jail.
