Tigerhawks go 0-3 at Nevada

NEVADA — In a makeup of a meet canceled earlier in the season, Colfax-Mingo’s wrestlers traveled to Nevada to take on the Cubs, along with North Polk and Bondurant-Farrar. C-M fell to the Cubs, 35-25, the Bluejays, 48-26, and the Comets, 60-12.

“We wrestled well tonight,” C-M coach Bryan Poulter said. “We had several matches that we won against opponents that we had lost to Saturday at the conference tournament. We went hard in our matches and wrestled with more mat awareness.”

Ty Carlson (106), Jaeden Sokolowski (138) and Brett Stevens (126) each won all three of their matches on the night. Carlson got a pin against Nevada in 1 minurte, 34 seconds and two decisions, a 14-4 win over the Bluejays and a 4-1 win over the Comets. Sokolowski got a forfeit against North Polk, an 8-6 win over Nevada and an 11-0 win over B-F. Stevens came away with pins against the Bluejays and Comets and a 9-0 victory over Nevada.

Other winners for the Tigerhawks included Cody Brodka, who got a pin in 50 seconds over B-F and MacCauley Mosher, Brandon Byal who won matches by forfeits.

C-M wrestles Prairie City-Monroe and Greene County in Jefferson Thursday.
