The following criminal matters were recently disposed of in Jasper County District Court.
• Tanner Scott Auten, age not available, pleaded guilty to a charge of probation violation. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to 10 days in jail. Auten additionally pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while barred (habitual offender). Judge Terry Wilson sentenced him to an additional 730 days in jail, all but 30 days suspended, for that offense. An additional charge of OWI, third offense, was dismissed.
• Charles Christopher Balius, 35, pleaded guilty to a charge of public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to two days in jail and levied a fine of $65.
• Tony Bass, 40, pleaded guilty to a charge of eluding, an aggravated misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to 20 days in jail and levied a fine of $625. Bass additionally pleaded guilty to a charge of probation violation. Holwerda sentenced him to 10 additional days in jail, to be served consecutive to the previous conviction, for that offense.
• Jonathon Eugene Benge, 18, pleaded guilty to a charge of OWI, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda entered a deferred judgment, with a period of probation of one year, and levied a $1,250 civil penalty.
• Rodney Dean Cornelison, 45, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to two days in jail and levied a fine of $315.
• Wolo Davis, 26, pleaded guilty to OWI, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda entered a deferred judgment, with a period of probation of one years, and levied a $1,250 civil penalty.
• Christopher Scott Fields, 22, pleaded guilty to driving while barred (habitual offender), an aggravated misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to 10 days in jail and levied a fine of $625.
• Jessica Renae Galvin, 31, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to 180 days in jail, all but three days suspended, and probation for a period of two years. Holwerda also levied a fine of $315.
• Melissa Ann Klingensmith, 41, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced her to two days in jail and levied a fine of $315. Klingensmith additionally pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Holwerda levied a fine of $65 for that offense. Three additional charges of possession of a controlled substance and four charges of unlawful possession of prescription drugs were dismissed.
• Nicholas Harold Klingensmith Jr., 46, pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drug, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda levied a fine of $315 for each offense. Two additional charges of unlawful possession of prescription drugs and four charges of possession of a controlled substance were dismissed.
• Kenneth John Lamb Jr., 41, pleaded guilty to OWI, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him two days in jail and levied a fine of $1,250. Lamb may attend a 48-hour OWI program in lieu of jail time.
Tricia Lee Martin, 38, pleaded guilty to public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda levied a fine of $65.
• Jose Manuel Martinez-Alvarez, 37, pleaded guilty to OWI, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to two days in jail and levied a fine of $1,250.
• Leah Germaine Murphy, 23, pleaded guilty to violation of a no-contact order, a simple misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced her to one day in jail and levied a fine of $65.
• Lonnie Douglas Poweshiek, 46, pleaded guilty to eluding, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to six days in jail and levied a fine of $1,000. An additional charge of driving while barred (habitual offender) was dismissed.
• Shauna Rae Quillen, 25, pleaded guilty to supplying alcohol to an underage person, a serious misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda levied a fine of $500.
• Phillip John Vanderburg, 42, pleaded guilty to OWI, second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda sentenced him to seven days in jail and levied a fine of $1,875.
• Jacob Tyler Whalen, 27, pleaded guilty to violation of a no-contact order, a simple misdemeanor. Judge Steven Holwerda levied a fine of $65.
