Rosemary Lee Krueger, 84, of Baxter passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Park Centre Hospice in Newton.

A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Bethany United Church of Christ east of Baxter. No funeral services will be held and burial will be at a later date in Bethany UCC Cemetery.

Rosemary was born on Sept. 17, 1929, to Raymond and Irene (Moffitt) Guessford-Toedt in Newton, Iowa. After Raymond passed away her stepfather Leo Toedt was an important part of her life. Rosemary graduated from Newton High School. Shortly after school she married Edgar Krueger on July 25, 1948, in Newton. Rosemary was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, the Flying Farmers, League of Women’s Voters, founding and retired member of the Baxter Rescue Unit, and was a leader in Brownies and 4-H for many years. She was a perfectionist and very strong willed. They lived on a Century Farm and she enjoyed spending time with her family, scuba diving, canoeing, working at Bethany’s Krueger Memorial Park, and gardening. Her love of fresh flowers, especially gladiolas, came from her Grandfather Moffitt. He grew and they sold them on the streets of Des Moines when she was a child.

Rosemary’s memories will be cherished by her husband Edgar; her daughters Debbie (Curt) Hansen, and Macy Lisk; grandchildren Brock (Robin) Hansen, Holly (Jeff) Sandhoff, Rachel (David) Douglas, Kathryn (Tariq) Kahn, Lisa (Travis) Thornton, and Justin Lisk; great-grandchildren Veronica Condon, Morgan Hansen, Ayden Hansen, Seth Hansen, Tate Sandhoff, Carmen Sandhoff, Lauren Douglas, Kiosi Kahn, and Tristan Thornton; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Randy Krueger; step-sister Pearl Dunning; son-in-law Randy Lisk; and grandchild Carolyn Krueger.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany’s Krueger Memorial Park.

Fredregill Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Rosemary and her family.
