Iowa Speedway’s first general manager has purchased a small asphalt racetrack, located 20 miles south of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Todd Melfi, who served as general manager of the Newton racetrack during its construction and first season of racing, announced Monday he was purchasing Motordrome Speedway. Melfi is now president of Turn 4 Entertainment Inc.

Motordrome is a half-mile asphalt track sanctioned for NASCAR’s Whelen All-American Series. It features a weekly racing schedule with asphalt late models, modifieds and street stocks, as well as other classes.
