Barbara Jean (Hall) Summey

Barbara Jean (Hall) Summey, 83, of Milesburg, Pa., died at her home on Dec. 4, 2013. Summey was born on Feb 3, 1930, in Newton and graduated from the Newton High School in 1947.

She married John William Summey in Brevard, N.C., on Jan. 21, 1951. Barb and Johnny lived in York, Maine until retirement, then moved to Lady Lake, Fla., where they lived for many years.

After the death of her husband, Barb moved to Ormond Beach, Fla., to enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean which she enjoyed from her living room window. Due to health reasons, Barb recently moved to Milesburg, Pa., to be closer to her sons.

Barb is survived by her three children, Donald Scott (Amy) Summey, David William (Natalie) Summey of Milesburg, Pa., and a daughter Teresa Faye (Michael) Allen of Battleground, Wash.; five grandchildren, Eric Summey, Stacey Summey, Jonathon (Julia) Allen, Katie Allen and David Summey; and one great-granddaughter, Lydia Allen. She was also survived by a close cousin and friend Ruby Wylie of Newton.

Barb was preceded in death by her huband Johnny Summey; grandparents; parents, Donald and Ruby (Oliver) Hall and Azel (Katie) Oliver.
