Dolores ‘Dee’ Marlow Politano

Dolores “Dee” Marlow Politano, 71, of Baxter, formerly of Grinnell, Marshalltown, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Amsterdam, New York, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.

As per Dee’s wishes, she has been cremated and the celebration of her life service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30,at the Bethany United Church of Christ, 5627 N. 95th Ave. W. in Baxter.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home, 1115 E. 19th St. N. in Newton.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Dee’s family for a fitting tribute to be decided on at a later date. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or at the church at the time of the service. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Politano Family on the envelope.

Dee the daughter of Cleophus and Josephine Parazynski Marlow was born March 31, 1942 in Lyon Mountain, New York. Dee enjoyed a long career as a medical transcriptionist and clinic office manager in Marshalltown, Grinnell, and Des Moines, Iowa. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, reading, watching NASCAR races, and animals.

Those left to honor Dee’s memory are her husband of 51 years, Anthony Politano; her two daughters, Shari (Kevin) Joos of Mingo, Iowa, and Leeanne Politano of West Des Moines, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Anthony Olson, Nicholas Joos (Jeni Schurbon), Andee Joos and Luke Hubbs.

Dee’s family would like to thank everyone who cared for and loved Dee at Skiff Medical Center and at Park Centre, her most recent residence.
