• A 13-year-old boy was charged with fifth-degree theft and possession of alcohol under the legal age after officers were dispatched at 3 p.m. Tuesday to Walmart on a report of a theft. The boy attempted to steal a pocket knife, a BB gun and a pack of BB pellets. He also allegedly had a bottle of whiskey in his possession.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. It is the Daily News’ policy to release the names of individuals charged with a crime who are 16 and older.
