Jasper County Historical Museum to begin fall, winter schedule

The last day of the daily tour season at the Jasper County Historical Museum is Monday, September 30.  The museum is open daily from 1 until 4 PM through Monday.  Beginning Tuesday, October 1,  tours for groups are available by making arrangements in advance.  Arrangements may be made by calling the museum at 792-9118.

Upcoming fall and winter events at the Jasper County Historical Museum will include a noontime lunch and learn program about the Oregon Trail by Connie Robertson on October 16, a Dark Night at the Museum walk on October 19, a fundraising raffle of a handcrafted model John Deere tractor or model manure spreader donated by Chuck and Rachael Osborn, a noontime lunch and learn program on November 13 by Chuck Osborn on the process he uses to make his model farm equipment and the biannual Christmas Open House on December 7 & 8.  Raffle tickets for the model equipment may be purchased at the museum or by contacting a member of the Board of Directors.  The drawing for the first raffle item will occur at the November 13 noontime lunch and learn.  The drawing for the second raffle item will occur at the December 8th Open House.
