Michael R. O’Harra

Michael R. O’Harra, 58, of Colfax died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at his home.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with burial following at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 23, 2013, at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Michael O'Harra Memorial Fund, and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Tom O’Harra and Ann Raridon, Mike was born on Aug. 5, 1955, in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1973. He served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1976. On Aug. 15, 1980, he was united in marriage to Lori Eddy in Baxter. Mike was a welder by trade and owned his own shop in Colfax. He was a member of the Skunk River Cruisers and most of his free time he could be found either working on his hot rod or with his granddaughter, Dakota.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Lori of Colfax; his two children, Rebecca O’Harra and Matt O’Harra both of Baxter; his granddaughter, Dakota; his mother, Ann Raridon of Newton; and a sister, Cindy (Ted) Owens of Cedar Rapids. Preceding him in death were his father; a granddaughter, Brook; and his grandparents, Dick and Jane Seeland.
