Rep. Dave Loebsack picks up Randy, a practice dummy, as part of his PT test and tour of the Newton Fire Department. Loebsack visited the Newton Fire Department on Friday and said he didn’t realize the department was as big as it was and covered as wide of an area, 64 square miles, as they do. “I do what I can to help them get grants from the federal government for equipment and vehicles,” Loebsack said. On the PT test, Loebsack, who kept up with the firefighters on the bench press, said he planned to get his full workout in when he returned home.
