Kenneth W. Jones

Kenneth W. Jones “Jonesy”, 68, of Manchester passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Edgar and Eunice (Currier) Jones. Kenny graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1963. He then attended Marshalltown Community College.

Kenny was united in marriage to Claudia Winkelman in 1965. Three children were born to this union. They later divorced. Kenny was united in marriage to Sue Boriskey on Oct. 23, 1992 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Together they resided in Marshalltown. Kenny was employed by Fisher Controls in Marshalltown until retiring in 1993 due to health issues. Since August of 2013 Kenny and Sue have resided in Manchester.

Kenny loved and enjoyed spending time with family. He was an avid Cubs fan and fisherman. In his younger years, Kenny played slow-pitch softball in Marshalltown for Cecil’s Round Table, winning the National Title one year. Kenny also enjoyed watching football and basketball. His family remembered him as one who never knew a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Sue of Manchester; three children, Kendra (Tim Adams) O’Neal of Iowa City, Scott (Kris) Jones of Eldora, and Trenton (Robin) Jones of Belmond; three step-children, Todd (Angie) Boriskey of Marshalltown, Troy (Kerra) Boriskey of Dyersville and Brandi Boriskey of Manchester; one sister, Connie (Steve) Matsen of Newton; nine grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Etta Snow.

Online condolences may be sent to www.leonard-mullerfh.com. A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Union, Iowa. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be directed to the family.
