2013 Freedom Flight DVDs available

On Sunday, Newton Senior High School served as the host for the premier of the 2013 Jasper County Freedom Flight DVD. FF Organizer Doug Bishop said that SouthSidersProdcution Studios had more than 70 hours of footage, which they transformed into two one-hour DVDs and a separate photo DVD, which consist of 2,500 photos.

SSPS producer Mike Kieler said they had 10 videographers, three photographers, eight editors, 11 video cameras, four still cameras and more than 100 hours of editing to put together the final project.

“We kind of consider this to be the final chapter in the Freedom Flight book,” Bishop said. “Hours of videos knocked down into two. We got an hour of the send off and an hour of the trip, and today we are going to watch the video of the trip. The vets haven’t seen this yet, and this will be great way to say thank you one more time.”

Bishop also served as the narrator of the video, which incorporated stills, footage from Washington, D.C., and interviews with veterans. Copies are available for the public for $20 for each set, and all funds will go toward the future Jasper County Memorial Complex.
