Newton Senior High alumna Hannah Long was named Midwest Conference Perfomer of the Week as a member of the Monmouth College women’s golf team in Monmouth, Ill.

Long averaged 81.6 during Monmouth’s three-day stretch, playing at three different tournaments last Thursday through Saturday. Long
opened the 54-hole stretch with an 80 to tie for second place, one stroke out of the lead and a stroke off her own Monmouth school record at the Augustana Fall Classic. The Scots placed fifth with a season-low 343.

Long followed with an 83 at the Knox Invitational and an 82 at the Fighting Scot Invitational, tying for seventh. She is currently ranked the number one golfer individually in the conference, and Monmouth the number one team.
