Cardinal JV loses to Norwalk

NEWTON — Newton’s junior varsity scored at the end of each half at home Monday night. The Cardinals lost 20-10 to visiting Norwalk.

Grant Davidsion kicked a 32-yard field goal with four seconds left in the first half. Newton trailed 10-3 at the break.

Norwalk kicked a field goal in the third quarter and scored a touchdown in the fourth to go up 20-3.

With time running out in the contest, Micahel McKinney caught a five-yard touchdown pass from Blake Anderson for the Cardinals. Davidson kicked the extra point for the final margin.

Mac Icenbice led the Newton defense in tackles.

Newton’s junior varsity will go to Knoxville next Monday for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
