Newton Senior High’s football Cardinals hold their annual intra-squad scrimmage at 6 p.m. Friday at H.A. Lynn Stadium. Admission is a sports drink or donations are accepted.
The Cardinals open the 2013 football season Aug. 30 at Norwalk. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Their first home game is Sept. 6 against Knoxville.
Newton fans can purchase 2013 season reserved football tickets. The tickets are available at the NHS main office.
Also Friday is the NHS Soap Dance at 8:30 p.m. at the high school.
Newton Senior High’s volleyball Cardinals go to Johnston Saturday for a scrimmage. Matches begin at 9 a.m.
