Pet license is phone call home

Even indoor pets can get out and become lost. Having a pet license identifies and protects your pet in the event that this happens.

The City of Newton Municipal Code requires all dogs and cats at least 6 months of age or older be licensed and vaccinated against rabies every year. Discounts on licensing fees are available for dogs and cats that have been spayed or neutered.

Licenses are valid from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 each year. Contact the Newton Police Department at (641) 791-0850 to license your pet at (641) 791-0850.
