Thoma letters in swimming at Coe College

CEDAR RAPIDS — Matt Thoma, a freshman from Newton, earned an athletic letter for outstanding participation on the Cole College swimming and diving team during the 2012-13 season. Thoma, a 2012 NHS graduate, is the son of Doug and Patty Thoma.

Thoma is a first-year letter winner in swmming and diving. Under the direction of sixth-year head coach Justin Jennings, the Coe men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams turned in some of their best performances of the season at the 2013 Liberal Arts Championships.

At the Liberal Arts Championships, Thoma was a member of the Kohawk men’s 400-yard freestyle team, which finished ninth, the 200-yard medley relay that took ninth in the B Final, the 800-yard freestyle relay, which placed ninth, and the 200-yard freestyle relay, which placed eighth in the A Final.
