To the editor:
I wanted to write a short letter to let the readers of the Newton Daily News know of a special feat by a Jasper County citizen.
My husband, Greg Bohall, was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in December of 2012. Greg was scheduled to participate in the Jasper County Freedom Flight in 2013. Sadly, he was unable to attend the Freedom Flight to Washington, D.C.
Knowing Greg personally through UAW Local 997, Jasper County Freedom Flight organizer Doug Bishop went what we feel was above and beyond the call of duty. Doug came personally to our home in Greg’s waning days and presented Greg with Freedom Flight’s yellow shirt and cap.
Our family, especially Greg, appreciated this gesture by Doug. Thank you very much, Doug, for your kindness and all you do and have done for Jasper County veterans.
