Newton Police Department

• Andrew D. Altemeier, 32, of Newton was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 9:38 a.m. July 16 after officers were dispatched to the probation office. He violated his probation, and his original charge was possession of drugs. He was taken to jail.

• Kevan Berglund, 56, of Newton arrested on an outstanding warrant at 2:11 p.m. July 23 at 115 N. Second Ave. E. The warrant was for violating his parole, and his original charges was for possession of a controlled substance. Berglund was taken to jail.

• Dillon J. Clark, 20, of Newton was charged with driving with a revoked license after officers performed a routine traffic stop at 11 p.m. July 20 in the 100 block of Iowa Speedway Drive. He was released to appear in court.

• Ricky L. Craig, 41, of Des Moines was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 10:47 a.m. July 17 at 115 N. Second Ave. E. for violating his probation. His original charge was driving while intoxicated. He was taken to jail.

• Tara James, 38, of Newton was charged with driving while license revoked after officers performed a routine traffic stop at 3:57 p.m. July 23 in the 600 block of North Sixth Avenue East. She was released to appear in court.

• Tricia L. Martin, 38, of Newton was cited with failure to maintain control after officers were dispatched at 1:45 a.m. July 22 to the 800 block of Union Drive on a report of an accident. Martin lost control of the vehicle and said that the gas pedal was stuck and went into a ditch.

• Jonathan S. Roney, 19, of Newton was charged with driving with a revoked license after officers performed a routine traffic stop at 6:09 p.m. July 12 at the 1100 block of East 12th Street North. He was released to appear in court.
