Loren D. Nearmyer, 90, of Newton died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his home in Park Centre in Newton.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, until the time of service at the funeral home. The family will also greet friends with a coffee time at the funeral home following the burial.
Memorials to WesleyLife Hospice Care-Newton, or to the Courthouse Christmas Lighting Fund may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Nearmyer Family on the envelope.
Survivors include his two sisters, Ardelle Morgan of Altoona, and Veralea Buchanan of Newton; and his sister-in-law, Beverly Nearmyer of Newton; many nieces and nephews, and special family friends, the Ryther families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Louise in 2009; twin brother, Lawrence “Buck” Nearmyer in 2001; brothers-in-law, Raymond Morgan, Dick Buchanan, and Larry Blom.
