Foundation for Iowa Jayvee Charities thankful for support

To the Editor:

The Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities is proud to announce that our First Annual Charity Golf Tournament held on Friday, July 19, at Westwood Golf Course was a huge success.

On behalf of the Foundation, I would like to offer our thanks to Brad Sponseller and his team at Westwood Golf Course for helping to make our event run so smoothly.

Special thanks to the following major local sponsors:  Noble All American and Art a la Carte. Golfers enjoyed a great course, great food provided by Bob’s BBQ and great prizes provided by Iowa businesses.

The top three teams have been extended the opportunity to golf in the regional round of “The Big Tournament” compliments of Dixon Golf, including a team from the US Bank in Newton. US Bank Team members are:  Tracy Taylor, Mike Mathis, Ron Rickman and Mark Osborne. The Foundation wishes them luck in “The Big Tournament.”

The Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising and receiving contributions which we return to the communities in the state of Iowa by awarding grants to help with projects and/or programs which meet our criteria.

In all, the Foundation has awarded more than a quarter of a million dollars for the betterment of Iowa communities. This includes the communities of:  Center Point, Stratford, Eagle Grove, Stanley, Cedar Rapids, Remsen, North Liberty, Mason City and Primghar.

We look forward to an even greater event in 2014 as we join forces with the PGA of Iowa and host a Pro-Am event. Once the date is set, it will be posted on our website at www.foundationforiowajayceescharities.org, and on our Facebook page (Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities).
