Newton Police Department

• Zachary D. Clark, 17, of Newton was charged with third-degree criminal mischief after officers were dispatched at 6:48 p.m. on Oct. 30, 2012 to 900 N. Fourth Ave. E. in report of criminal mischief. An unnamed victim reported that someone was throwing rocks at her car and she called the police. Police did observe chips on the paint of the vehicle. Police spoke with a witness and he said that he saw Clark throw rock at the victim’s car. The estimated amount of damage was $927.05. Clark was released to appear in court.

• Paige C. Kruse, 18, of Newton was cited for failure to maintain control of her vehicle after she struck a vehicle in the rear that was driven by Cindy S. Esbeck, 58 of Newton. The accident occurred at the 1300 block of First Avenue East at 1:18 p.m. Wednesday. There was no damage caused to either vehicle.
