The daughter of James Henry and Fern (Templeton) Colyn, Ila was born on Nov. 22, 1925, in Dunreath. On Sept. 2, 1943, she was united in marriage to Everett Holla Miller in Princeton, Mo. Ila was a homemaker and lived in the area all of her life. Ila’s life was her family she was very proud of her eight children and always put them first. Her family and friends, baking, embroidery and love of blue grass music were Ila’s passions. She expressed her love for friends and family by sharing her homemade pies, bread, cookies and cinnamon rolls as well as her beautiful embroidered tea towels. In earlier years she liked to take a treat to her “older” friends and stay for a visit. Ila treasured her calls and visits with her little old ladies in town just to check in with them. Embroidering her tea towels filled many hours with her creativity and were in demand far and wide.
