Academic Achievements

Grand View University

Rebecca Rozendaal of Sully received her bachelor of arts degree in art education (K-12) during the Grand View Univeristy commencement on Saturday, April 27, at the Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. She graduated magna cum laude.

Mercy College of Health Sciences

Lauren Patty of Newton has been named to the president’s list for the spring 2013 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines.

To qualify for this academic recognition, students must attain a grade point average of 3.75 or higher, in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Mount Mercy University

Claire Funke of Newton, Tara Van Rees of Lynnville and Abby Van Wyk and Bailey Zegers, both of Sully, were named to the spring 2013 dean’s list at Mount Mercy University.

Zegers also graduated magna cum laude from Mount Mercy with a bachelor of science in nursing on May 19.

Students with a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better, and who are graded for six or more semester hours, are eligible for inclusion on the dean’s list.

College of Saint Mary

Jordan Bell of Newton graduated with a masters in occupational therapy from the College of Saint Mary on May 19 at the Grand Ballroom of the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Indian Hills Community College

Jonathon Stonehocker of Newton, Ryan Engle of Baxter, Ashley Nolin of Prairie City, and Morgan Blom of Reason, received their associate degree from Indian Hills Community College after completing the graduation requirements for the 2013 spring semester.
