Tigerhawks lose at Gilbert

Colfax-Mingo high’s Tigerhawks fell, 4-2, at Gilbert in thier last game of the regular season on Thursday night.

The Tigerhawks got an eary run in the top of the first when Trent Pease doubled home Connor Hainer, whose double led off the game. Gilbert’s Tigers responded with two runs in both the seconf and the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. Pease drove in Hainer yet again following Hainer’s second double, but the C-M scoring would end there.

Senior Caleb Anderson pitched all six innings for C-M. He racked up four strikeouts, and only one of the four runs he allowed were earned.

Aside from Hainer and Pease, the offense for the Tigerhawks was fairly stagnant. Nobody on the team drew a walk and the only other hits were singles by Anderson and Juan Gonzales.

C-M ramps up for postseason play on Saturday, when the Tigerhawks will face Pella Christian at Albia.
