WATERLOO (AP) — A Waterloo man has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for attacking a person at a convenience store and shooting his gun.
U.S. Attorney Sean Berry says 31-year-old Thaddeus Southall was sentenced Wednesday. He pleaded guilty in April to one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Prosecutors say Southall assaulted an individual at a Waterloo convenience store in November and threatened the store clerk. He is also accused of shooting a gun and hitting the individual’s vehicle outside the store.
Waterloo police say Southall, who had previously been convicted of a felony offense, later fought with officers as they attempted to arrest him.
