Slipknot singer reports West Des Moines theft

WEST DES MOINES (AP) — The lead singer of the heavy metal band Slipknot has reported the theft of $36,000 in musical equipment to West Des Moines police.

The Des Moines Register reported Corey Taylor told police that the theft included two guitars once owned by Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, who died in May 2010.

Taylor reported that he suspected a friend stole the gear when Taylor and his wife were touring in Europe.

Some of the equipment has been recovered from a guitar store. No arrests have been reported.
