Family fishing classes set for July 2, 16

Jasper County Conservation is offering a unique classroom experience that introduces families to a basic knowledge of fishing and hunting.

The free classes are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. July 2 and 16 at the Izaak Walton League. Cara Ingle will teach participants about basic tackle and bait for beginning anglers, as well as how to properly tie a hook and bobber, at the July 2 class, and the July 16 event will feature a family night of fishing. Poles and bait will be provided, and a prize for best casting will be given.

No previous experience is required. Topics are designed to provide participants with the knowledge get their family more active in the outdoors. Call (641) 792-9780 for more information.
