Family fishing classes set for July 2, 16

Jasper County Conservation is offering a unique classroom experience that introduces families to a basic knowledge of fishing and hunting.

The free classes are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. July 2 and 16 at the Izaak Walton League. Cara Ingle will teach participants about basic tackle and bait for beginning anglers, as well as how to properly tie a hook and bobber, at the July 2 class, and the July 16 event will feature a family night of fishing. Poles and bait will be provided, and a prize for best casting will be given.
