Shay’s Tea room, located at the historic Hunter Mansion, announced its closure Tuesday.
A message on the tea room's website stated, “We are sorry, but due to the loss of our cook, the tea room is now closed.”
“After two and half years, it was a good business,” said Susan Grigsby, Shay’s Tea House owner.
The tea room will open for two days next weekend, June 28 and 29. At 10 a.m., the gift shop will be open and at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. lunch will be served.
“We have wonderful customers, so it’s kind of a customer appreciation day,” Grigsby said.
