St. Ambrose University Students

on Spring Dean’s List

DAVENPORT — Brandi Collins, Emily Hoebelheinrich, Leah Norcross and Emilee Steinbach, all of Newton, have been named to the St. Ambrose University Dean’s List for the Spring 2013 term. Full-time students must have achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale to be named to the list.

Simpson College

The following local individuals graduated from Simpson College in Indianola on April 27, 2013: Nicole Hester of Baxter, graduated with BA degree in accounting; Jordan Maher of Baxter, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA degree in biology; Michael Flanagan of Newton, graduated with a BA in liberal arts and elementary education; Mark Lahart of Newton, graduated with a BA in criminal justice; Natalie McCormick of Newton, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in marketing; Brian Newton of Newton, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in mathematics and economics.

Local Resident Named to Macalester

College Dean’s List

ST. PAUL — Isaac Mathison-Bowie, the son of Tiare Mathison of Newton, and Stephen Bowie of Waunakee, WI has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College for spring semester of the 2012-2013 school year.

A graduate of Newton High School, Mathison-Bowie was a sophomore at Macalester last spring. A student must have achieved a semester grade point average of at least 3.75, twelve or more credits on a regular grading option, no grades below C-, and no withdrawal or incomplete grades for the semester.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha

The University of Nebraska at Omaha recently held its commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 4, where Melissa Estelle Mount of Newton, Iowa, with a Master of Science degree.

Hawkeye Community College

Jacob Mott, of Newton, graduated from Hawkeye Community College with an AA in Liberal Arts.
