Tigerhawks win third consecutive game, beat Colo-Nesco 7-3

The Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks continued their hot steak on the baseball diamond on Thursday, winning their third straight game with a 7-3 victory at Colo-Nesco.

The Tigerhawks used three pitchers in the game, and the final pitcher to enter the game for C-M, senior Caleb Anderson, picked up the victory. Anderson pitched the final 4.2 innings, giving up two earned runs and picking up an astounding 10 strikeouts.

Connor Hainer pitched two innings for the Tigerhawks, allowing no runs and walking three batters while picking up three strikeouts. Senior Jake Alexander picked up one out on the evening. That out was a strikeout.

Leading the team with three RBI on the night was senior left fielder Chad McLain. McLain had two doubles and a single in his four at-bats. He also scored a run.

Hainer drove in two runs on one base hit in his four at-bats. Senior first baseman Trent Pease had two hits in three at-bats. He also stole a base, walked and scored a run.

Alexander was hitless, but he walked twice and came around to score both times he reached base.

Senior center fielder Austin Yoakum had a base knock in two at-bats and scored a run. Yoakum stole a base and walked twice.

Catcher Tim Blood was the final Tigerhawk to record a base hit. He had a single in three at-bats. He drove in a run, stole a base and walked once as well.

The Tigerhawks are now 10-6 on the season after their third straight victory. The travel to Gilbert tonight and will participate in Newton’s tournament on Saturday.
