• Kaylee A. Golbek, 18, of Newton was charged with serious assault after authorities responded to a report of an assault at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 100 East Fourth Street North. Golbeck was charged for allegedly biting her juvenile brother, causing him to bleed. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Timothy D. Jacobs, 26, of Newton was charged with serious domestic assault (enhanced) after authorities received a report of an assault at 4:05 p.m. May 27. According to court documents, the victim stated she was riding in the front passenger seat of a vehicle Jacobs was driving when he punched her in the face and threatened to “kill her and put her in a ditch if she called police.” The victim called the police from Kum N Go, but Jacobs fled the scene before police arrived. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was located at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday at 306 W. Third St. S. #3. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
