Red Rock programs planned for holiday weekend

Several programs will be offered at Lake Red Rock for Memorial Day weekend.

A “Froggin’ Hike” is set for 9 p.m. Friday beginning at the South Tailwater Recreation Area. Join a park ranger for an evening hike to one of Red Rock’s wetlands to listen for frogs and identify some of their calls.

Canoeing and kayaking are from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Meet at Roberts Creek East Boat Ramp. Participants must be 10 years old to use kayaks. Life jackets will be provided.

The Red Rock Visitor Center will be open throughout the weekend for visitors to watch some great cartoons of Bobber the Water Safety Dog and his friends.

Note the bird banding program originally scheduled for May 25 has been canceled.

Programs are free, and registration is not necessary.

Activities may be canceled if raining.
