Paul H. Chrismore

Paul Harold Chrismore, 78, of Newton passed away Tuesday evening, May 21, 2013 at his home in Newton.

Private family services will be held at a later date, Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Paul, the son of Harold and Mildred (Steele) Chrismore, was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Knoxville. He was a graduate of the Knoxville Senior High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames and the Waterloo School of Photography. Paul served his country with the United States Army in Japan, following World War II.

On Nov. 4, 1958, Paul was united in marriage with Hisako Kimoto in Japan.

Paul was employed by the Maytag Company in Newton. He retired after 35 years as an Inspector, Plant II, in Dishwasher Assembly. He devoted his life to his family and friends, and enjoyed photography, woodworking and his model airplanes.

Those left to honor Paul’s memory include his wife Hisako of Newton; his six children and five grandchildren: son Joe (Angie) Chrismore of Urbandale and Joe’s children: Spencer Chrismore, Baylee Chrismore, Stefan Adams and Lindsay Adams; his daughters, Linda Chrismore of Newton, Stephanie (Tom) Settle of West Des Moines and Stephanie’s daughter Emily; Margaret Chrismore of Waukee, Christine Chrismore of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Tina Chrismore of New York, NY; and his friend, a Chihuahua named Happy.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
