Seth B. Clark

Seth B. Clark, 77, of Monroe died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of John T. and Sara Ruth (Coe) Clark, Seth was born on Aug. 22, 1935, in Dunreath, Iowa. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1954. On Oct. 16, 1954, he was united in marriage to Faye Modlin in Dunreath. Seth was a life long member of the Monroe area and lived in the same house his entire life. He attended the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and farmed his entire life.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Faye; his children, Randy (Judy) Clark of Monroe, Candy (Terry) Amyx of Wisconsin, Cindy (Vince) Vincentz of Florida, and Julie Clark of Grinnell; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Bart (Setsuko) Clark of Newton, Keith (Liz) Clark of Minnesota, Wanda (Dwight) Deitrick of Illinois, Betty (Elvyn) Ver Dought of Missouri, Violet (Francis) Neff of Monroe and Shirley Hummell of Newton as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Park Clark and Wayland Clark; a grandson, Travis; and five sisters, Gayle, Doris, Mary, Vernie and Ila.
