Newton Police Department
• Rodney D. Dobbs, 48, of Newton was charged with third-offense public intoxication after officers responded to a call from two juvenile females at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of First Avenue West. The females advised that Dobbs had asked if he could drink a beer in front of them. When officers located Dobbs, he had multiple beers in his sweatshirt and smelled of alcohol. Dobbs’ blood alcohol level was measured at .170. Dobbs was charged and taken to jail.
• Jordan L. Foreman, 25, of Newton was charged with disorderly conduct after officers were dispatched to Fareway in reference to a theft at 2:49 p.m. May 7. A store manager alleged he witnessed Dawn Foreman-Renaud attempt to shoplift some items. After officers made contact with Foreman-Renaud, her son, Foreman, became upset and began banging his fists on the glass windows of the store. Foreman was charged and released to appear in court.
