PCM girls shoot record round, win C-M invite
WASHINGTON — Prairie City-Monroe girls golf coach Val Edwards had one final challenge for her team’s final regular-season meet on Friday.
And in a season where the Mustangs have dealt with inconsistent weather and still managed victory after victory, that challenge apparently’ wasn’t even that much of a challenge.
The Mustangs shot a nine-hole school record round of 182, winning a six-team invitational at Colfax Golf Club. Fellow Jasper County school Collins-Maxwell-Baxter was fifth, while Colfax-Mingo’s Olivia Maggard carded a 53 as the team’s lone competitor.
