Iowa Master Farm Homemakers

Iowa Master Farm Homemakers Betty E. Snook of Newton and Vernadine Kaisand of Grinnell, attended the April Homemakers meeting in Ames. They were accompanied by Snook’s husband, Francis. President Cindy Schnekloth presided over the meeting. Secretary Marilyn Strothman called the roll of members. Recently deceased members were remembered, including Master Homemaker Harriet Smith and husband, Bob, former residents of Newton.

IMFH is affiliated with County Women of the World, and plans were made for a triennial conference in Chennai, India in September. Delegates will take 50 stuffed fabric “Betsy” dolls, which will carry greetings from Iowa Homemakers.

IMFH is sponsored by Wallace Farmer Magazine as well as Monsanto, Farm Credit Services and other various farm businesses. IMFH supports Pure Water for Africa, Ruth Sayre scholarships, Save the Sight, nutrition and other projects. Following lunch, the ladies went on a walk, symbolizing “Women’s Walk Around the World.” A participant free was added to Friendship Pennies.
