Due to more rain over the weekend, all of Saturday’s scheduled sports events for area teams were canceled.
Among them were the Newton boys soccer team’s tournament at Nevada, which was canceled entirely. The Class 2A No. 10 Cardinals were scheduled to play three games. Both the boys and girls’ tournaments at Nevada were both canceled due to weather this season.
Also on the schedule was a girls golf meet to be hosted by Colfax-Mingo. Prarie City-Monroe was listed as being one of the participants.
