The Newton KOA will kick off the camping season this weekend with its annual Care Camp Weekend Friday and Saturday.

Participants who pay to camp Friday will get Saturday’s camping fee waived. Proceeds and any free-will donations collected will go toward sending a child who is battling cancer to Care Camp.

There will be a whole host of activities for children, including a fishing contest 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. Later that evening, there will be an ice cream social at the community patio.
