The Newton Convention & Visitors Bureau and Hawkeye Stages will host a grand opening open house 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday. A meet-and-greet reception will follow from 5 to 7 p.m.
Visitors will be able to tour the newly remodeled Hawkeye Stages facility and the Newton CVB offices, which includes a brand-new Newton Visitor Center. The facilities are located at 300 E. 17th S. S. in Newton.
In addition to tours of the facility, there will be an opportunity to meet the owners and staff of Hawkeye Stages. Mayor Mike Hansen also will be on hand to issue a special proclamation.
