Richard Kerker, 74, of Des Moines passed away on April 30, 2013, at Mitchellville Care Center.
He suffered from dementia this past year. His wishes were to donate his body to science at the University of Des Moines and requested no memorials.
He was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He was the son of Frank and Lucille (Fitzpatrick) Kerker. He worked for Hy-Vee for the past 50 years.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Jim (Vivian) Kerker of Granger, Iowa, Pam (Bob) McCormick of Newton, Iowa, and Randy Kerker of Des Moines, Iowa; his grandchildren, Tabetha, Natalie and Micheal McCormick and Anthony Kerker; his step-granchildren, Stephanie and Belinda Graham; his step-great-grandchildren, Jayden Graham and Hunter Hiner; his sister, Barbara Klaus of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and his ex-wife, Carol Kulpa of Newton.
