CMB girls can’t keep up with pace of Falcons

The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter girls soccer team (2-3) fell to the Aplington Parkersburg Falcons (3-2) on Monday, losing 5-0.

The Raiders held their own with the Falcons for 40 minutes, only trailing 1-0 at the half time buzzer, but the frenetic pace of AP in the second half proved too much for the Raiders to handle. Once down by more than one goal, the Raiders were forced to open up their offense, allowing the Falcons to press with even more efficiency and run up the score.

“We will continue to work towards improving, and I believe that these girls will have better times ahead of them,” CMB coach Gary Cummings said.
