• Danny L. Atwood, 33, of Newton was picked up on an outstanding warrant for parole violation at 6:36 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of First Avenue West. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Makenzie S. Davis, 20, of Killduff was charged with operating while intoxicated at 12:40 p.m. Thursday after being detained by customers at the Casey's store in the 3100 block of First Avenue East. A witness told police Davis allegedly almost hit a customer with her car while pulling into the lot. She was also cited for driving while license suspended and was issued warning for driving with an open container. Davis was released to appear.

• Richard A. Good Jr., 34, of Newton was charged at 9:21 a.m. Thursday with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were dispatched to investigate a report of an impaired individual walking near Pit Stop Liquors. Police said Good had unusual body movements and found a glass pipe and a white substance, later identified as methamphetamine, in his possession. He was released to appear.

• Travis W. Huff, 30, of Newton was charged with third-degree burglary, interference with official acts and public intoxication after Newton Police were dispatched to investigate a report of a burglary in progress at 8:56 p.m. Wednesday at MG Laundry. Police said witnesses told them they observed an individual enter the building through a window and then exit. Police caught Huff on foot in the 1300 block of South Sixth Avenue East with $9.80 worth of allegedly stolen change from MG Laundry in his possession. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
