Jasper County Animal Rescue Leaguevolunteer Savannah Reicks shakes Vanlentina’s paw at Earl May on Saturday. The JCARL had adoptable pets at Family Video on Friday and at Earl May, Farver’s True Value and Pet Kingdom on Saturday. JCARL board member Donna Jackson also took the opportunity to praise the community for its support in raising several hundred dollars to pay for surgery for Simba (pictured at right), who was found abandoned at an apartment complex and brought to the league with a broken leg. Jackson said the JCARL received the funds for Simba’s surgery within four days of announcing the need on Facebook. Simba is recovering at the rescue league.
