Paul and Dawn Bleeker will have their hands full this weekend. The owners of the Capitol II Theater in downtown Newton announced this week they will be showing four separate films this week.
Beginning Friday, the Capitol II will show “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.” Additionally, it will continue to show last week’s new addition, “Identity Theft.” Sharing screen time with that film will be “The Host” and the popular family film, “The Croods.”
Studio obligations require “G.I. Joe” not share a screen with another film. That means the other three will be sharing time on the cinema’s second screen.
“The Croods” will be offered as a matinee both Saturday and Sunday at 1:15 p.m. “Identity Thief” will show at 4:15 p.m. both days. “The Host” will show at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as at 9:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Beginning Monday, “The Croods” will no longer be shown at the Capitol II, meaning “The Host” and “Identity Thief” will share the cinema’s second screen. “The Host” will be shown at 6:45 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. “Identity Thief” will be shown at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, as well as a 4:15 p.m. matinee Wednesday.
“G.I. Joe” will be shown at 7 p.m. each night, Friday through Thursday. A second evening show will be presented at 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There will be 1:30 and 4 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday, as well as a 4 p.m. matinee Wednesday.
