Jasper County Conservation Director Keri Van Zante will ask the Board of Supervisors to approve the deeds to last week’s auction winners Tuesday when the board meets.
Last week, the board opened the sealed bids for the Amboy Ridge, Rader Timber and Hamil Wildlife parcels of land. Todd and Sara Van Manan won Amboy for $625. Ernest and Melinda Adkison won Hamil for $480, and after an intense bidding war, Tedd See won Rader for $2,256.
Jasper County Engineer Russ Stutt will be asking the board to approve a resolution set-up a public hearing for a road vacation on April 23. A road vacation is the legal process of undoing a road creation. The vacated road ceases to be a public road where the public has a right to travel.
The proposed road is a portion of West 96th Street North in section 7-81N-20W in the Independence Township.
Another item of note will be Jasper County Deputy Auditor Tina Mulgrew seeking to get the board to update its credit card spending policy for county employees.
The resolution states:
“That county purchasing cards and credit cards are for official use only. Personal use is prohibited. Any misuse of a county purchasing card or credit may result in disciplinary action as stated in the policy.”
If approved the resolution would go into effect immediately.
Jasper County Auditor Dennis Parrott will also ask to board to approve a resolution that will allow funds to be re-appropriated if deemed necessary during the 2013 to 2014 fiscal year. At last Tuesday’s meeting the board held a public hearing and approved the reallocation of funds for the previous budget.
According to the board, moving funds in no way effects the taxpayers, but is something done when one department has excess budgetary funds and another may be running short.
