Lamb graduates from Navy basic training

Jamie Lamb of Newton graduated from U.S. Navy basic training on June 29, 2012, at Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois.

He completed Apprentice Technical Training in Illinois and graduated from Mineman “A” School on Jan. 9, 2013, in San Diego, Calif. He also completed additional maintenance and operating training in San Diego and left Newton on Sunday, April 7, following a three-week leave to be stationed in Sasebo, Japan, to serve aboard the USS Warrior.

Lamb is the son of Deena and the late Ken Lamb of Newton; the brother of Kenny, Mandi, Tabitha and Kylie Lamb, all of Newton; and the grandson of Ramah Walker of Newton.
